Food Options Ltd, established in 2002, supplies a range of chilled and frozen foods, and a range of grocery products and non-food items. From its 1,500 square metre, custom-built premises in Livingston, Food Options provides a daily service throughout Scotland and North East England using its own fleet of dual-temperature vehicles. The company has third-party accreditation from NSF-CMi and is rated as ‘Gold Standard’.
The company contacted us as it was interested in exploring opportunities to improve its energy efficiency. An advisor carried out an opportunity assessment and recommended that Food Options change its existing lighting to energy-efficient light emitting diodes (LEDs) and investigate the viability of voltage optimisation and power factor correction.
The company decided to implement these recommendations and again turned to our team for help, this time in the form of an SME loan. Following a successful application, the company installed LED lighting, and voltage optimisation and power factor correction equipment. It is expected that Food Options will realise annual cost savings of over £10,000 from these improvements.
