Encourage staff to recycle
Since 2014 all Scottish organisations have to recycle key recyclates – it’s the law.
Get your staff on board to avoid spot penalties.
Using different bins for different resources and general waste can present challenges, the main one being getting staff to change old habits.
The easiest, most practical thing you can do is clearly label your bins. Make use of the free Recycle for Scotland posters and stickers in the poster creator tool to improve your recycling.
The Waste (Scotland) Regulations require all businesses (regardless of size) to present key recyclates for collection namely; paper, cardboard, metal, plastics and glass. Most food businesses will need to separate out their food waste too.
